My Journey

Mission Statement

My mission is to share the transformative power of sound healing – creating balance, deep relaxation, and inner harmony for individuals and communities, while contributing to collective wellbeing in a grounded and practical way.

My first encounter with sound healing was in early 2024, when I visited my wife’s cousin in hospital. His illness had developed after a long period of overwork. For years, his body had signaled imbalance, and eventually surgery became unavoidable.

During the Easter holiday, the hospital was unusually quiet. Sitting beside him for hours gave me space to reflect. I began questioning the pace of modern life – how we often prioritise financial stability while postponing rest, until the body demands attention.

I wondered:

What if we could maintain a steady state of flow?

What if we didn’t wait until something breaks before we care for ourselves?

This curiosity led me to explore different healing practices. One evening, I came across a video of crystal singing bowls being played. Even through a screen, the resonance felt calming and grounding. Something shifted.

Within days, I purchased my first set of bowls and began practicing.

As I immersed myself in sound, another thought emerged:
If this brings me peace, perhaps it can support others too.

That was the moment the idea of sharing sound publicly first took root.

My journey then led me to the Sound Healing Academy – an internationally recognised training institution with teachers across the UK, Australia, USA, Canada, Ireland and Singapore.

I began with Level 1 training under my first teacher, Anita. What started as curiosity gradually became commitment. Over time, I progressed through Level 2 and ultimately completed my Diploma in Sound Healing.

Becoming a Full Member of the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT) marked an important milestone in this journey. It symbolised not an ending, but a deeper responsibility – to practice with integrity, professionalism and ongoing learning.

Alongside formal training, I began hosting community-based sound baths in Brisbane and collaborating with yoga and meditation teachers. These shared spaces taught me as much as any workbook – about presence, humility and the diversity of human experience.

As questions from participants grew, I launched a reflective podcast, Ask a Sound Healing Practitioner, now available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. The intention behind the podcast is simple: to demystify sound healing and offer grounded insights for those who are curious but unsure where to begin.

My earlier YouTube channel, originally created for guided meditation, has also evolved alongside my practice. As my focus deepened into sound work, the platform expanded to include sound-based relaxation and educational reflections.

Looking ahead, I am interested in designing specialised sessions for diverse groups – including community wellbeing programs, corporate environments and supportive spaces for individuals navigating cognitive decline or high stress.

What began as a quiet personal exploration has become a steady path of service, discipline and growth.

This journey continues – not in haste, but with intention.

And if our paths cross through a session, a collaboration, or a simple conversation, I welcome it. 🌿
